Crowns

A dental crown, also known as a “cap”, is placed circumferentially around a tooth to better protect it or is placed on a dental implant to restore a missing tooth. A crown is needed to treat various different problems including large decay, tooth chips and fractures, to hold a dental bridge in place, closing gaps in teeth, and protecting a tooth and its root structure after root canals.

What Are The Benefits?

Crowns have many benefits, including strengthening a weak or broken tooth. If done professionally, crowns provide protection and fit like a normal tooth to ensure that you can function normally. It can also protect a tooth from further decay and keep your entire mouth healthy by restoring your tooth back to its original features.

How Are They Done?

The process usually takes two appointments. In the first appointment, the teeth are prepared and a temporary crown is fabricated. A final impression is taken, which we send to our master ceramist who handcrafts the crown to fit your teeth and smile perfectly. The second appointment will consist of cementing the permanent crown in place and ensuring you love the shape, size, color, and fit.
