Dentures

No matter how hard we try, there are some unfortunate events that lead to tooth loss. Many people suffer from missing teeth, which can cause aesthetics issues, health issues, and prevent you from smiling. Missing teeth can prevent you from eating proper foods and can decrease your quality of life. Lucky enough, here at Goel Dental Aesthetics, we offer a wide range of different dentures including both full and partial dentures to restore your missing teeth and make you feel confident when you smile.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are a removable appliance that can help replace missing teeth and restore your overall smile. If you’ve ever lost teeth either due to trauma, dental decay, or gum disease, replacing these missing teeth will restore both your appearance and health. Dentures make it easier to eat, speak, and restore back your confidence. It is known that when you lose either some or all of your teeth, your facial muscles weaken and sag which make people look older. Dentures can help restore these facial muscles and increase your facial appearance, making you look younger. Each denture is made custom to what the patient is looking for and can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth.

There are main different types of dentures including full dentures, partial dentures, immediate dentures, and overdentures. Full dentures are used in patients who are missing all of their teeth.  The full denture process takes about five to six appointments. Partial dentures are created when you are missing less than all your teeth and work by anchoring the denture onto existing teeth. Immediate dentures are inserted the same day as some of your teeth are removed. When you have previous implants, overdentures are used because the denture clips onto the implants to provide more stability and support for the denture.

At first dentures may make you feel awkward until your facial structures and muscles become accustomed to them, but overtime you won’t notice them at all! Denture patients still need to make yearly appointments to maintain the dentures and so the dentist can examine any areas they need adjustment.

Here at Goel Dental Aesthetics we strongly care about your health and confidence, and urge you to make an appointment for a consultation if you or a loved one are suffering from missing teeth.
